With the first light of dawn, the almost secret “Laguna del Ocho”, very close from the village of Chacchoben, starts waking up. Waiting patiently in our kayaks, we can observe the wildest nature: trails on the water formed by huge crocodiles that leave their hiding places in the shore to go into the lagoon, while in the trees a symphony of tropical birds singing live up the games of the spider monkeys, jumping from branch to branch. In the summer season we disembark in Lagarto Island where we track the huge crocodile nests which eggs will hatch in September. After more than two hours exploring the lagoon, we end the adventure with a good breakfast.
