Remote Xcalak<\/span><\/h3>\n

The quiet fishing village of Xcalak is located on the border with Belize, 60 km South of Mahahual. Currently, its reefs are protected as a Natural Park. All types of corals abound in the reserve but, above all, there are large formations of elkhorn corals (acropora palmata<\/em>) that are specially protected. Diving in Xcalak offers everything from large animals such as groupers, tarpons and -if you are lucky- manatees, to macro life such as seahorses, pipefish, shrimps, etcetera. It is also a magnificent place to enter canyons and underwater caves of great beauty.<\/p>\n

The dive operation can be organized from 2 divers. We leave at 8.15 a.m. from our Pepe Dive facilities in Mahahual by van to the town of Xcalak, where we have a small boat (with capacity for 5 divers and the guide) with its captain. We do two dives and the interval is on the beach where water and snacks are offered to the clients. The return to Mahahual is scheduled around 15h.<\/p>\n
